That's true for any team, though. It'd be almost impossible to find a coach universally loved by his kids - but it's clear that there are a lot of players that really liked Weis. Chris Martin was one. Sounds like Manti is one. The captains, Jimmy, Golden. I'm sure there are more. But I'm sure there are dudes thrilled to see him go so they can get a fresh start too. But from my own sources it is clear that the view the players have of Coach Weis is not uniform. There are very clearly a significant number of players that are relieved to see him go. However, these are the same players that have defended him from the start, and subsequently, the players who got the most action. I'm curious to hear from the likes of Deion Walker, Jonas Gray, and George West, who saw playing time less and less as the season and years progressed. The theme these players have been projecting mirrors Tom Brady and Brady Quinn in their relationship with Charlie. The next coach would be well served to interview these players to undestand the type of person ND wants and needs as a student athelete. Thank you Charlie and staff for all your efforts.
