Not much to report on a pretty fun night and event out with the fancy and rich at the ESPY's this year. But, 3 things stand out.
First, Samuel Jackson does a video vignette about his early days as a sportscaster for local news. Hilarious.
Second, per my Tweet on it, Sam Jackson bagged on Sanchez pretty early in his opening remarks. I dont know it verbatim, but it went something like this:
"Congratulations to Mark Sanchez, leaving USC early and getting drafted. But, you gotta feel a little bad for Mark, taking a paycut like that by leaving USC for the NFL."
Got a good laugh, and some applause. Loved it.
The post-party was probably the highlight though - open bar, good food, Big Ben. And then these dudes from Pi Kappa Alpha went on stage. It's not quite as cool looking on video, but these dudes put on a really cool show. The MJ tribute, not shown below, was particularly sweet.
Looking to see ND nominated for a Best Team ESPY by 2010.
