Friday Roundup: The “Dog Days” Edition

Man, coupled with the absolute lack of college football happenings this week, the MJ and McNair “news” and “coverage” was just brutal. If only Michael could have keeled over in September. We could have completely missed it. This week, even Poodle Pete is taking a break from spoon feeding us any football joy.

Don’t worry, world, Pete’s not really taking a vacation. He’s just heading to Cabo and then Maui to help improve their joy profiles. (Also, ellipses to finish sentences, Pete? For shame… all those wasted characters…)

Great BCS article link MQ. Nice to read an actual analysis of the BCS system rather than the usual bowl system/playoff back and forth bs. I agree with his arguments and hope the Justice Department takes a look at this.

I call BS on one point in the argument against the BCS. People say that the six “BCS conferences” are given too big a piece of the pie at the expense of smaller conferences. To quote Peter Griffin, “Bull…crap!” If anything, smaller conferences are being given more money than they deserve. They bring so little to the table in terms of marketing the sport. Allow coferences and bowls to operate independent of the BCS and see if the small conferences bring in more revenue. Everybody benefits from the BCS. The small conferences are just too greedy to realize it.

Man, I have a newfound respect for The Sporting News. That is pretty damn irresponsible by TBL.

DTK, I think that was just Obama eliminating any more of those crazy theories that he wasn’t a red-blooded, American man.
