You’re So Predictable: Bad News

domer.mq

You’ve already heard that Chris Martin has gone soft on his verbal to Notre Dame. You’ve also already heard that Fauria is out for the summer and fall due to “personal reasons.” Life has taught us little, but one thing it likes to teach us again and again is that bad news comes in threes. The last 2 seasons total loses: 9 and 6 – each divisible by three. See what we mean? Oh, and 9 + 6 = 15… also divisible by three! What are the odds of that!?

So with that in mind, we ask all you Chicken Littles out there…

What will the 3rd bit of Bad News be for the Irish?

  • Mitch Mustain decides to transfer to Notre Dame (39%, 33 Votes)
  • Sam Young’s amateur status revoked due to turning pro in competitive eating. (17%, 14 Votes)
  • Lafortune Quarter Dogs become Dollar Dogs (14%, 12 Votes)
  • ND Stadium renovations fail code inspections – all 2009 home games to be played in Cleveland (12%, 10 Votes)
  • Touchdown Jesus renamed to “Raise The Roof Jesus” (11%, 9 Votes)
  • Jimmy Clausen quits football to join ABBA Revival Cover Band (5%, 4 Votes)
  • Golden Dome to be re-plated in Nickle (2%, 2 Votes)

If the Quarter Dogs tradition dies, I will have to reconsider my decision to attend ND.

I had no freaking idea that Martin was pulling this crap. As Weis says, “If you’re looking we’re looking.”

tjak, i agree in principle. but we have such a big need at the DE position, and he’s so highly regarded, that there will pretty much be a spot for him up until and including signing day, regardless. i think he knows this. for what it’s worth, i think the kid ends up Irish. i think he just wants to look around and have some fun. it’s disappointing to me big time, and i think more than anything it’s just the perception of the class that takes a hit, but once we win this fall, he’ll be back in the fold. Hendrix coming on board helps too.

I hear you. I heard this news at about 11:00 pm PST and responded accordingly. He is definitely what we need at Notre Dame, I just do not want to go through another Justin trattou.

I’ll bet all the money in my bank account (32 cents) that this guy somehow ends up playing for Urban Meyer.

yeah, Martin is huge for this class, and Weis and Polian know it. they will be all over this, but in a positive way I think, trying to reaffirm that he’s solid. my guess (and a complete guess) is that Martin is covering his bases in case this season doesn’t go that well and in case Weis isn’t there next year. I don’t think either will happen, but I think he’s going out there to better understand where he’ll go if ND struggles this fall and Weis gets the boot. i think ND will go 9 wins min, 11 max and Martin will be 100% Irish with Weis sticking around. but I also think he figures he should check some things out just in case that doesnt happens.

BJ, there are 2 scenarios that I really don’t like that would have to play out for you to win your bet.
