Where Are They Now: Demetrius Jones

Well, they’re at outside linebacker.
Former Notre Dame transfer Demetrius Jones is on the move again, this time from offense to defense.
Jones was the starting quarterback for the Irish’s 2007 season opener before transferring to Cincinnati. The junior will move to outside linebacker this spring for the Bearcats, Cincinnati head coach Brian Kelly told ESPN.com on Monday.

what a shame. He could have played a different position at ND and avoided that whole ugly transfer drama, and most importantly gotten a ND degree. There were no winners in that situation. thanks for the update.
he’s still lucky he transferred. with the influx of talent the last 2 years he’d have been buried at almost any position. at Cincy, he could start at OLB this year.
Definitely a lot of talent at ND to compete with. I also think this is a classic example of the recruiting services not always getting it right. If he was the awesome, fast, elusive athlete that everyone said he was, wouldn’t he be able to play offense at Cincy? It’s an up and coming program, but it’s not exactly in the same league as the top flight programs besides ND that were recruiting him. It also makes you wonder what Weis saw in him that merited him starting against GT.
I wouldn’t mind having him as a safety if he had stayed. We could use the depth.
I assumed he was in the ground, since he’s DEAD TO ME.
“no busters wore 3, err I mean 56.”
I hate to be spiteful, but I can’t wish him well after the way he walked out on his team and then tried to throw ND under the bus. Do things like Frazer did and I would wish him the best. Have a little class D Jones.
