Friday Roundup: The “8 Inches” Edition
domer.mq
Here in Chicago we’re just waiting for 8 inches of snow to arrive between now and tomorrow night. 8 inches of soul crushing, mind blowing, life taking crystalline water. I want all the snow flakes to know that I hate every one of those unique SOBs.
The Roundup:
- Golden Tate is blogging, and he lets us know that ND QBs, like fighter pilots, don’t get to pick their nicknames.
- The Shark is hoping to start this year.
- Rakes realizes that ND is now a hockey school.
- It has to be a good sign that it’s absolutely killing SoCal fans and bloggers that Te’o picked ND – so much so that they aren’t even bothering with facts.
- I don’t know where they come from, but Gator fans keep leaving comments on this post many, many months after the fact. Things are a bit slow in the south sometimes.
- He might just be a tad bit difficult to work with.
- Got too many people on your roster? Dismiss some of the more useless ones with the “Violating Team Rules” catch-all. Team Rule broken? Probably “Failure to be as good as the new guy.”
- Is your grandfather Twittering? David Cutcliffe is. (HT: EDSBS)

If this is where you live, I hate you.

On the issue of Shark, if he has an option, I would say he needs to insist on staying a starter. As a RH reliever, I dont see many options for him as middle-relief righties are a dime a dozen. Stay in the minors, and you’ll surely get a call up once or twice this year anyway as a spot starter.
On the link to Rakes, while YOURE not specifically covering the hockey team, I’m glad you at least provided us with someone who is. I’ve been intently watching the team this year on CBS College Sports and they really have blown me away. I would think this squad has to be one of the big time favorites to win the NC. Christian Hanson is locking people down and one of the better defensive forwards in college hockey, Eric Condra is an unstoppable goal scorer, and of course Jordan Pearce is the best player in the NCAA this year. I cant wait for tonight against Nebraska-Omaha!
I don’t actually live on the pier, but I was there yesterday and live just across those hills in the background.
You shouldn’t hate me, you should give sympathy that I live amongst the Trojan barbarians and effusive thanks that I call them out for being Spoiled Children with Scratchy Crotches at every opportunity.
70F today – what’s it like in Chicago?
Someone needs to teach the SC Rhodes Scholar that writes that blog how to use a spellcheck.
Domer, I live about 3 minutes from the pier. Was it an accident that you chose a picture of my back yard? Didn’t think so.
I’m well aware, Biscuit. Well. Aware.
domer,
Don’t hate on the CA residents too much. There is a real price to pay for living here, we have the highest gas prices in the lower 48, and some of the highest if not the highest sales and income taxes. Not to mention that unemployment is about 10%. And while there may be nice enclaves like Santa Monica, San Luis Obispo, Santa Cruz, ect. There is a large part of this state that is like Detroit, only sunnier.
DTK,
Don’t even try. Chicago has the highest gas price in the country all the time, plus the highest metro sales tax. And IL’s unemployment rate is skyrocketing.
Oh, and it’s been 0-29 degrees for the last 90 days. It got up to 56 a couple of weeks ago, and we were all outside trying to get our melatonin levels out of whack.
Quitcher bitchin’ about the weather, Southern Boy. I like my weather like I like my beer. Cold and dark.
