McCarthy was a leading tackler, but he could not cover his own shadow against receivers and backs. Way too many alcolades were given to him for the tackling part and not enough attention was paid to his coverage deficiencies. Always 1-2 steps too slow. We need someone who can tackle AND cover against the pass. If he starts next year I will be very disapointed that someone has not stepped up to surpass him on the depth chart. I've been lucky enough to see a few games this year on CBS CSTV, and this year's squad is REALLY badass. That game against O$U last week was the most amazing ending to a hockey game I've ever seen in my life. I've rewatched that thing like 5 times already and STILL cant believe it.
