It’s funny. I never thought this would happen, but I have moved beyond ND football on Saturdays. All the sense of anticipation and excitement that would lead up to each matchup have been drained by the past two years of uninspired, mistake-prone, Div II performances. Youth. Luck. Whatever. Weis and his nonchalant attitude have made a mockery of ND football.

I personally can’t wait until we lose to Nevada to start off the season next year. At least then we might finally fire Weis.

Why people continue to argue that Weis is still going to make this team a title contender is beyond me. This team was as bad today as it was against SD State to start the year. There has been no sign of improvement among these players over the season, much less from last year. That is ALL coaching (or, apparently, the lack thereof). There is nothing to make me think this current coaching staff can take this team to lofty heights. I know Weis isn’t getting the axe (for all sorts of reasons), but I simply no longer believe that he is the answer.

If you are looking forward to the thrashing ND will receive next week you are a true, die hard ND fan–and a masochist as well–which now that I think about it, are synonymous these days.
