Fact is, 2006 would have been an incredible glue class- kind of like this year (2009) where the 2007 and 2008 class are “star” classes. Its all about timing. I agree, the upgrade in talent is so significant, even compared to Lou in his last years, that its only a matter of time. What needs to happen is Domer’s unite, and get behind Charlie. Be patient. Keep the internet chat positive (recruits read this junk) and lets get excited. Its going to happen. Next years offense will be scary (provided the O-line comes around) and the D will be top 20.

This could be very similar to what happened at Florida. Zook loads the cupboard, and the guy who follows reaps the reward. OR….they give charlie a chance. I am afraid its next year or bust. Someone needs to coach these guys up. Especially on the O-Line. The Jr. class has not lived up to the hype. Is it Latina? Does Chas. make a change? The D-line gets a pass, I. Williams is a soph., and Kuntz and Brown, God love’em, were marginal recruits. They get by on heart, they are glue guys, but not d-line studs. Next year – Williams is a jr., this years frosh have a year of maturity and weight room, and Stockton comes in.
Truth is, the 2006 class is a bust on paper, when you consider expectations. Between transfers and under-performance, it is weak. Last years class will be the class that brings ND back. Just frosh now, look out. Crist, Floyd, Ethan Johnson, Blanton, Deion Walker, Rudolph, Clelland, Cave, Filer, Fleming, McDonald, Newman, Robinson, etc. Look out.

Thank you for being one of the ten other rational Notre Dame football fans out there. People seem to not understand that talent is the great indicator of a college program’s success. All the BCS teams know this (Read: Overmatched Hawaii getting blown out, Ball State (god forbid) surely getting blown out). Programs like Florida, Texas, Georgia, LSU, Bama all have the 85 guys they need to have competitive practice, and someone lurking behind everyone for some PT. And it takes a Percy Harvin or a Tim Tebow or a Colt McCoy or a Julio Jones to come into these places and play as an underclassman. That’s what I dream about, when the only underclassmen that play on our field are the true freaks of nature that Charlie is/can/has/will recruit to play for the Irish. Go Irish. Beat Navy.
