Friday Roundup: The “Influenza” Edition

I’m already sick as a dog today. So help me, if the Irish underperform this weekend, my rage will be such that I will be forced to walk around the city and cough without covering my mouth.

The Roundup:

• With all the talk of “where will Mike Leach go next?” I ask, do we really want Mike Leach anywhere else?
• Brady Quinn’s debut was a good, solid seven and a half.
• The Weis I know would have just had it cut off by now.
• Tuberville whines more often than I do when I’m insufferably ill, but he’s also a freaking coaching contract ninja.
• Stever Spurrier: All class.
• Whitlock writes that life isn’t fair. Heh.
• Some people think Buck Burnette, Texas back-up Center, was sincere in his apology for his racist remarks on facebook. Some, like myself, see that his apology, while possibly sincere, shows he didn’t actually learn the lesson he should.
• More evidence that Ohio State is all that is wrong with America.

Slow news day. Slow news week. Everything is slow when you are sick. “If you’re gonna be sick, might as well make everyone miserable,” I always say. There is no beer of the week because I’m going to bed before I can think one up, and besides, when you’re sick, there is no beer. Only sadness. And sick. And that gross feeling in the back of your throat as though you’d just gargled swamp water mixed with hate and purple. There may not be a gameday chat either. We’ll see. If there is, then you know I’m still with the living.
