Oh, Just that Little Age Thing Again
The Biscuit
I posted about how young the Irish remain last week, and we were all sorta wondering where ND falls compared to other D-1 programs. Well, in the “Irish Play by their Own Rules” lame-ass column MQ links to below, we get the answer:
Their youth, however, is working against them. Weis has eight freshmen in his two-deep depth chart. Only North Texas (9) and Southern Methodist (13) are younger, and neither is a BCS contender.
Let me spell that out a bit clearer.
119. Southern Methodist - 13 frosh in the 2-deep
118. North Texas - 9 frosh in the 2-deep
117. Notre Dame - 8 frosh in the 2-deep
116 through 1 - Every Other Team in the Freaking Country including Every Irish Opponent and Every other team the Irish Do Not Play Except North Texas and SMU - < 8 frosh in the 2-deep
We are young. Manage expectations.
But still pine for glory.
