Since we return a ton of players and our schedule gets easier, we jump up to 19. It's a bit naive, but it's worked for years. He should have an experience quotient of those starters (a 4th year starter is worth more than 2nd year starter, and a 2nd year starting senior is worth more than a 2nd year starting sophomore, assuming similar talent levels). But recruiting is going well. Slow compared to last year - but last year we were on fire early. This year it's TX and USC off to a fast start. I was encouraged reading Phil Steele analysis on ND whom he picks to be the #1 most improved team. Good analysis until I saw he picked John Ryan #39 out of 66 top OLB in the country. No mention of K. Neal or B. Smith though he picked K. Neal as the #49 best ILB out of 55. Now my confidence is a shaken. Glad to see recruiting is picking up.
