So I Missed The Coaching Clinic…

Sorry. There was some confusion, apparently only on my part, about whether or not the practice was still open to non-media since it had been moved to the early morning so the players could make it to the funeral of Kallen Wade's mother. And since I couldn't get confirmation from anyone in a very solid, definitive way at 8pm on Friday, I decided not to go. This is why I need to start doing the opposite of what my gut says. The practice was open to clinic participants and apparently it was quite the show. This goes right up there in my top-5 of "Things I Missed Out On." And the other 4 all involve women, beer, and beaches, so that's really saying something.

Anyway, Ben Ford did not miss it, and he has the carpal tunnel to prove it.

Before we get started, I just want to say that if you’re planning on reading all of this entry in one sitting, you should make sure the dog’s been walked first. This is a long one.

As you know, the entire practice on Saturday was open to the media, as well as to the couple hundred or so coaches who were attending Notre Dame’s annual coaches clinic. Today may be the nicest day of the year yet, weather-wise, but practice was held indoors, probably because it started so early (7:30) in the morning.

Even if you've read the countless other reviews of this past weekend's action, this one's worth a lunch-time look.
