There are meds for being inane? Wow, I know a lot of people that could use those. MQ didn't mis-type there. He meant inane, not insane. Just in case that wasn't a joke. And given the inanity of previous posts, I doubt it was.

Elkona = Idiot. Here's some help:
Sarcasm: remarks that mean the opposite of what they seem to say and are intended to mock or deride.
My God, could you be more sensitive and overreact a little more, please? That's what makes this country great, after all!

Well, I don't think Karl Dorrell has 'readership' as he's a coach and not a blogger, but we did manage to fire up one reader with our sarcasm-laden POV that race had nothing to do with the firing and should be a non-issue. So we've got that going for us.

elkona,

You're ridiculous. Your post is ridiculous. Your lack of understanding about the way the world works is ridiculous.

I can delete your comment if I want to, but I wont, because no amount of deleting would nullify your ridiculousness.

Brian,

You really are inane.

Wow is right. Elkona, that was an absurd response.

1) I'm not going to defend everything/anything on the dump dorrell site. That's not my site or my words. Of COURSE they're going to say UCLA is one of the best programs in the country, and that Cal fans/alums are no good - they're UCLA fans. They hate Cal. The link, per the context of the post, was to share the quotes that Dorrell made on the situation and the 'fair shake' that he feels he didn't get. I thought that was pretty clear.

2) In no way did I 'shout down' anyone, and comparing me to Jim Crow cops is down right ludicrous, and extremely offensive. I'm pretty pissed to be honest. That type of labeling is irresponsible, illogical and outright wrong. I would appreciate it if you took that back. Dorrell has the right to say that race played a part, ESPN has a right to say that Ty was fired because of race, and I have the right to say that that is all complete BS. And there's not a racist bone in my body.

3) Yes, slavery and segregation were and are terrible things. Posting a response like that that implies that I somehow think that slavery is okay is just freaking wrong.

4) I agree - people have a right to SAY anything they want - I didn't mention anything about free speech. People can cry race all they want with this firing (though they're not in this case for the most part, other than Dorrell). But to say that Dorrell got fired because of his race/that he didn't get a fair shot is completely insane. Much like it was to say that Ty got fired because of race.

5) I've spoken with Father Hesburgh in the past, and he's sharp as a tack. No way he'd go for this double-standard you're espousing.

6) The only thing I'll give you credit for is that you're clearly not racist either. Good for you, I'm happy. And that you were right - I meant 'incite'.
