Omar Hunter is Awesome

Omar Hunter, all-world D-line recruit, visited ND this weekend (thanks to the posters at NDNation.com for the link to the pic), and by all accounts enjoyed his time there. Per the pic, his commitment is firm. And given the legacy being left behind by Trevor Laws, who is breaking records all over the place despite the challenging times on the field for the Irish this year, this is a good thing.
Omar had a great write-up in the local paper by “Northeast Georgia’s Most Experienced News Team” at the Gainseville Times. From the article, we learn a lot of great things about Omar:
- Non-stop energy
- Great attitude, hard worker
- Smart kid
- Big kid
- Leader
Much like the Crist article, this shows more than the Rivals and Scouts of the world ever will. A bit about the kid behind the numbers (which are BIG at 300lbs and FAST at 4.9).

Can’t wait to see this kid in the Blue and Gold. I predict much playing time. Early.

I love that picture. That staredown alone is enough to break up most collegiate offensive lines. Fact.
Soooooooo glad Hunter is going all Irish! Good recruiting, Charlie. Can’t wait for Omar to arrive in South Bend!
