Maybe we should all get drunk and then re-read the comment to see if it makes more sense.

I've managed to determine that alcohol had nothing to do with JFD's first comment. Unless he's very, very drunk all the time. His last 3 attempts at commenting have been, um, surreal.

I don't think you're an idiot, obviously.

I do think there's a big difference between a teen on the sidelines and a toddler working as a bat boy. Jr.'s about one of the most mobile people on that sideline. Get the old priests, admins, etc... off the sideline if safety is a concern.

Even if it were an issue, which it ain't, it's akin to saying, "This sky scraper is about to collapse on 1000s of people. I think part of the problem is that the gargoyles on the top are facing east." I can't believe we're even entertaining this item on HLS. Not to be elitist, but I'd like to think we're at least slightly above that.

That's pretty dismissive. Dusty Baker spending quality time with his kid in the dugout was a "non-issue" until the 2002 playoffs, too. I don't think kids should be allowed on a college football sideline. I don't think that makes me an idiot.

It's not a minor issue. It's a non-issue. The minute people stop worrying about it is the minute the Football IQ of the Notre Dame Fanbase will jump 20 points.

Q, just because Reid's kids are drug-addled spazzes doesn't mean Weis' kid is going to turn out that way. How much "quality time" is he getting with the kid on the sidelines, anyhow? Frankly, I wouldn't want to be anywhere NEAR Weis during games this year, and I certainly hope he's not holding anything back because his kid is listening in (though I doubt he is).

Furthermore, if Weis is spending even 5 minutes of "quality time" with his kid during the game, it's a disservice to the team. Play catch with your kid in the offseason, for God's sake. I'm not asking Weis to ignore the kid. Just spend about 50 hours a year away from him during game time. Again, a minor issue, but at least a somewhat valid complaint. Hell, I'd love to have my wife sitting next to me at work, but if she were here, I'd be even less productive than I am right now.

Considering what Charlie's buddy Andy Reid is going thru right now, I'm not surprised Charlie would want to find ways to interact with his kid given the hours he puts in on the job. I'm surprised more coaches don't do it.
