Louisville to World: Nobody Likes Us!!!

The Biscuit

Louisville is suing Duke because the Blue Devils don’t want to play them anymore.  Vanderbilt dropped Louisville from their schedule as well.  What’s going on?

Does everyone suddenly hate Louisville?  Nobody wants to play them.

The Cardinals have contacted every member of the Football Bowl Subdivision to find a replacement, according to the lawsuit, but have been unable to find a school willing to play two games at Louisville in exchange for one return game.

Granted a 2-away, 1-home series with a mediocre Big East team isn’t the best bargain in the world, but some of the smaller/less-known teams should be clamoring to play the Lou, right?  No?  What is it?  They don’t smell good?  They didn’t hold the door for you like a southern gentleman should?

I mean, it’s not like Duke is some powerhouse football program to just drop Louisville like a bad habit (I’m being careful here with choice of language given our current status) like your first girlfriend did back in 7th grade.   You know, the one named Sue that asked you out through your mutual friend Mike.  The one you made out with once in your friend’s basement while playing “Kiss or Kill”? You know her.  And then she dumped you THROUGH THAT SAME FRIEND MIKE ON YOUR SUPPOSED-TO-BE-SPECIAL ONE MONTH ANNIVERSARY????!?!?!?!?!??!

Shut up, I’m totally over it!!!  That stupid, slutty…Wait, I think I’m off-topic.

Anyway, why doesn’t anyone want to play The Cardinals?   At least they make their mascot name plural like it should be, unlike some other teams.
