News that Matt Carufel has been excused from the team this week for "personal reasons" has spread like wildfire. And some of you need to calm the hell down. The conclusion leaping on various ND boards is gazelle-like. And 99% of you don't know wtf you're talking about.
And just in case you need evidence to assuage your fear that Weis can't relate to the team, and can't inspire them, I give you this :
"We've all put a lot of work into this. This is what we do, whether we're 0-5 or 5-0. We're going to come to work every week."
"It starts with coach Weis and everybody buying into him and knowing that he's not going to quit," said linebacker Maurice Crum, who forced four of UCLA's seven turnovers.
"We're starting to take on his mentality week in and week out. Regardless what happens, he's not going to quit, and he expects us not to quit, either."
You big pansies. You'd leap off a ship the minute a good gust of wind hit the sails. Between worries over transfers and concerns about Charlie Weis' "gruff nature," maybe it's time some of you went and started cheering for an Ivy League team. Your blood pressure would thank you.
All that said, we hope Matt, like Chris Stewart, decides to come back to the ND family.

Domer, I’d say that there is something to worry about here, just because it seems so unusual. But, at this point I would agree its nothing to panic about. My gut is to some extent, Demetrius leaving opened the door to other players taking the same step; sort of “gave them permission” to act on their doubts. So, this trend should burn itself out, and no reason to worry too much about Weis’ relationship with the team unless it continues next year.
Thumbs Up/Down:
