Purdue: We’re So Boring We Invented this Drum. It didn’t work. And it’s a Fraud.

The Biscuit

You know it’s pretty bad when everyone’s sitting around Purdue thinking, “What can we do to make this place more exciting?” and the answer comes back in a flash of brilliance, a bright blinding spot of igenuity and creativity…

Let’s make the WORLD’S BIGGEST DRUM!!!    YEAH!!!!!!!!

And they did.  And they were still boring.

And, they were surpassed.  Apparently the University of Chicago drum, Texas’ drum and the Millenium Drum are all bigger.

So they don’t even have that going for them. Sad.

Liars!!!!!!!!!

Wow. I’m a die-hard Domer, but I’ve spent significant time on both campuses and a Domer calling Purdue boring is outright laughable and reason to question your sanity.

Splitting hairs here, but the Chicago drum and the Texas drum are actually one in the same. http://lhb.music.utexas.edu/history/traditions_index.html

Let this be the first, last, and only time I ever talk about UT or bands ever again. I need to go pray. GO IRISH!

Timugen, based on your comments thus far, I think you might want to reassess your self-image as a “die-hard Domer.” May want to reassess the sense of humor while you’re at it.

yes. pretty soon you’ll take me to task for caring so much about the size of drums, suggesting that it might not be that important.
