Through all that I’ve read (and observed in the interim), I’ve come a long way from my initial feelings about the release/firing of Ty as Head Coach at ND; and have come to realize it was necessary, and the right thing to do. But, the as-yet ongoing bashing of this man, now more than two years on, is not only no longer necessary(if it ever actually was), but it’s unseemly and of no benefit to Notre Dame or its fans/alumni. Let it go. He’s gone, not coming back, and has his own current quagmire to deal with. ND, her alumni and fans are bigger that this. Move on. Let the man be.

I hear you, and I certainly appreciate your point of view on this. I can’t even say you’re wrong. But like so many former girlfriends of mine, I’ve not received “closure” on this matter. I guess I need the world to fully appreciate the fact that “the man” cannot coach, that he is a pretender as both a coach and a person, and that he owes millions of dollars and the careers of so many talented young men to those who he cheated.
I will consider your point further. This could quite possibly be my last “Ty Bashing” post. Maybe.

Theres no reason to go on bashing him?? Have you SEEN our senior class? My God. If it weren’t for Charlie’s miracle working, we’d have two straight years of 0 depth thanks to Mr. 4-handicap.

I don’t care. I didn’t like the hiring of Willingham when it happened, and I told everyone who would listen it would be a disaster. He remains the absolute worst ever, even worse than kuharich, who was coach when I was a student.

Maybe you could commit to letting it go after all those who said ND’s firing of Willingham was racist and unseemly apologize for saying those things about ND and admit that, in fact, ND was right and that Ty is a poor coach. How about that?

ty sucked. he took a program and drove it in to the ground. his last 2 recruiting classes were the worst we’ve all seen or can possibly remember, and Trey is right – we’d be sinking if it weren’t for charlie. i’m not talking our current hopes for a bowl bid this year, realistically thinking 7-6. i’m talking 1-11.
i dont think Ty is an evil person, and i don’t hate him. i just think he’s irresponsible (golfing) and a horrible coach. and i just hate that he was ever at ND. i wish him on Michigan and USC all day though.
feel free to continue the bashing MQ. you have my support. calling out his continued failure isn’t really even bashing. it’s just reporting the news. with a slight bias.
