In the same press release announcing the reduction of QB Starter contenders by 25%, The Notre Dame football program made another, possibly even more important announcement:
“Finally, we will be using officiating crews from the Big East this season rather than Big Ten officials.“
Meaning that the Notre Dame program will import Big East officials to their away games rather than Integer refs. This is great news. While some conferences may simply dislike Notre Dame or feel some level of bias against ND, the Big Ten and their officials actually resent Notre Dame and have shown that resentment in the form of uncalled holding penalties for as long as I can remember. I can’t imagine how many sacks Victor Abriamiri might have had this past season but for Integer refs.
This may also allow Charlie Weis to speak more quickly and in more hushed tones when speaking with refs during road games.

Great post. I couldn’t agree more. The first 4 games of last year were ridiculous.
I agree. Big televen refs have been absolutely outrageous over the years, second only to the USC alums who ref games in the Coloseum.
They were Big Ten referees? I thought they hailed from the Im Dumb and Blind Conference. Oh wait, that is the Big Ten…
Now Lllllloyd Cccccarr and Bo Phlembuckler will have all the more reason to try to drop the ND game. Should make those alumns happy. They can schedule one more directional school to lambaste on their way to a whiny denial of a title game.

You guys are ridiculous, the Big Ten officals just suck. They are not biased, they are just awful.
UM is not trying to drop the game, the only movement there is to try to avoid playing OSU and ND at home in the same year because what happens is the home schedule ends up sucking like it did last year (OSU, ND, PSU all on the road).
Whatever, DTK. Michigan is the Devil.
