Quinn Likely to Delay Scout Workout until ND’s Pro Day
And hey, that makes total sense. Why work out this week, at a neutral site and when you’re not feeling 100%, when you can work out 2 weeks later with some more prep, more time to heal and on your home turf? Oh, and the ND Pro Day is March 4th.
This seems totally logical to me. A bunch of ND haters, and likely the media, will say that this has caused “Quinn’s stock to drop”. They are incorrect.
Listen, morons, NFL coaches and scouts don’t give a shite about what you or the media say and think. They don’t give a shite about Quinn working out today or in 5 days, or if it’s in Indy or at ND. What they care about is whether they like the player, his work ethic and his talent. They can get a good read on the player through the interviews that take place around the Combine. They get a read on the work ethic there as well, and also from CW. And they get his talent through the TONS of film they watch, and through his workout, wherever and whenever it is. So wherever Quinn ends up in the draft, his participation (or lack thereof) in the ‘official’ evaluation workouts is irrelevant.
If NFL teams thought the way you (meaning the media and the ND haters - not our loyal readers) all do, they’d end up drafting a bunch of no-name players every year that tried REALLY HARD at the Combine drills, and did well. Why doesn’t that happen? Oh, bc they are not IDIOTS.
Besides, how can you not perform better when you’re working out under Our Lady’s watchful eye? Good luck Brady.

I don’t agree that the owners and scouts are not Idiots. I think they are. They will draft players they don’t need. That makes them idiots. Brady, if he is lucky will drop to the Miami or later position. that way he can go to a team that can develop him. if he goes early, oakland or detroit, he will be thrust into a situation that is not winnable.
if he chooses to work out on Sunday, he will do just as well, but I think it is smart to workout at the ND pro day. more relaxed, more time and more attention.
Great post
Owners aren’t idiots? Hmmm .. let’s see what the AIQ (average idiot quotient) of the following might be:
Al Davis
Dan Snyder
Jerry Jones
Alex Spanos
Al Davis probably brings down the average by a good 50 points on his own, but the rest don’t exactly help.
Biscuit, I’m pretty sure the entire history of the Detroit Lions disagrees with your non-idiot theory. I just wanted to point that out and pile on.
Okay, okay. Some owners are idiots. Others (like the amazing Rooney family of the Pittsburgh Steelers) are not. And I said owners/scouts.
And what I meant is that clubs will take the best player they can get based on their perceived position need. BQ will drop only if a team 1) Doesn’t need a QB or 2) Thinks another QB is better. Either can happen, but my main point is that when/where Quinn works out will not impact that perception, even though the Haters and the Media will certainly pile on BQ and say that it will.
Good enough?
Oh, and I said “Clubs” meaning Owners/Coaches/Scouts.
The Haters WILL pile on BQ for his decision, and conveniently ignore the fact that Troy Smith made the same decision, but his was based on the fact that he’s been troughing out on the “banquet circuit” for the last few weeks and apparently looks more like the Michelin Man than a Heisman-winning top QB prospect.
It makes you wonder about the long-term commitment of Mr. Smith when he says that he hasn’t had time to work out much.
