Justin Trattou Follows, um, Heart, yeah Heart, and Decommits From ND.

Bummer.
Free link here explaining the whole thing. It clearly had nothing to do with new schemes with a new DC, better weather, or prevalence of exposed female skin on Florida’s campus. Definitely not the last one. That’s for sure. That would never play into the mind of a 17/18 year old boy staring a DE chart with the depth of the hadopelagic zone in the face.
Visual representation of Notre Dame discussion boards in the last few hours here:

Admittedly, if I were trying to pick a D Line for which I’d like to play based on this past season’s performance, Florida would be right up there, and I’m sure that new shiny mythical national championship trophy makes for one hell of a recruiting tool.
Ah well, tomorrow will be another day, and there’s bound to be some statistical law out there that dictates that ND is bound to recruit more than a few DL recruits in a single recruiting season someday.

This is a severe blow, and now we are down to 5 defensive recruits this year.

Ouch. Brutal.
I really thought the kid would think it through and stick with Notre Dame, given how well he seemed to get along with Charlie and how ND ‘felt right’ for him, etc. But I think it’s a mistake – Urban squeaked by on Ron Zook’s recruiting this year. Literally squeaked by in a bunch of games, except the last one where his opponent didn’t show up to play.
This hurts though, and I am quite disappointed in the kid. CW needs to go out and find some gems that are hidden. And, get Wilson to decommit from Illinois to join his boy Hughes…

This is also why verbal commitments suck. They mean so little, and affect recruiting plans. We need to bring in a few studs for the DL, and now. I don’t know where we find them, but we need them.

Florida has SEVEN linemen in its current class. CW should clearly be going after a few of them. I mean, hell, they all can’t play.

Trattou, Greg and Chris Little are all pussies, any man who flips on his word like that I don’t want em on the team anyway—Hope they all have fun, watching the Irish get better every year and start winning titles without them, especially Trattou, if he can see the T.V. from behind all the guys on Floridas depth chart ahead of him.

I think Trattou made a good decision. So he changed his mind, we all do it. He switched because he did what felt right to him. Give the kid a break. He is doing amazing at Florida and Notre Dame is doing really badly. Looks like Trattou made a great choice!! This kid is gunna be the next big thing.

Trattou is gunna be huge. Who needs Notre Dame! Florida has got a great football player on their team and he is a major asset to the team. Trattou made an awesome choice to go to Florida! He is definitely on his way to being the next big thing in Florida.

As a hard core Gator fan, I’m glad Trattou went to Florida!!! He is amazing and is only a freshman!! Plus he is really HOT! Notre Dame is horrible. Their team sucks! Good choice Trattou. We are all routing you on!!!!!!!!!
