“Others Receiving Votes”
I was checking out the rankings, and it struck me how odd this year is compared to what we came to ‘know’ when we were at ND. We came to ‘know’ that Florida State and Miami were unstoppable powerhouses, we came to ‘know’ that certain teams were horrid and a walk in the park, and we came to ‘know’ that we should be in the upper echelon of college football, but we weren’t. Okay, there shouldn’t be quotes around that last know. We did know that.
But checking out the latest polls and particularly the “Others Receiving Votes” tells us just how much has changed in the world of college football that we love so much:
OTHERS RECEIVING VOTES Florida State 74, Wisconsin 58, Penn State 27, Pittsburgh 21, Washington 13, Texas A&M 11, Miami (FL) 8, Texas Tech 7, UCLA 6, Brigham Young 5, Wake Forest 3, North Carolina State 3, South Carolina 3.
