Give Your Loved Ones A Hug Today

domer.mq

We’re not going to NOT post items ripping on opponents or placing Charlie Weis on a pedastal today.  Afterall, the idea of terrorism is to force people to change the way they live.  5 years after the brutal 9/11 attacks, it’s a different world, but not one in which it’s impossible to have a little fun.

Still, today is a great day to do something to help make the world a little better.  Here are a couple of ideas I came up with on my 2.5 hour commute this morning.  They aren’t all directly related to the 9/11 events, but they might help make someone’s life a little better.

  1. Order a bunch of pizzas for your local firefighters.
  2. Donate to the Red Cross:  Blood and/or Money.
  3. Volunteer to be a Big Brother/Big Sister.
  4. Get involved with Catholic Charities.
  5. Donate to the IAFF.
  6. Find a Charity that suits you.
  7. Adopt a Member of the Military.
  8. Donate your frequent flier miles to Military members.
  9. Help build someone a home.
  10. Help Troops phone home.

Anyway, not trying to get preachy.  If nothing else, hug a loved one.
